Care instructions
Cleaning Gently cleanse all painted surfaces using mild soap and a soft sponge. Avoid abrasive scrubbers or harsh detergents as they can wear away the hand-painted finish over time.
Drying After washing, dry each piece thoroughly and immediately using a soft cloth. Leaving pieces to air dry is the fastest way to tarnish the metal and should always be avoided.
Oxidisation & Tarnish It is natural for kansa and pital pieces to develop a patina over time, this is a sign of authentic metal and only adds to the character of your piece.
For any unpainted areas that have oxidised, apply a small amount of Pitambri / tamarind paste using a soft cloth, rub gently in circular motions, and rinse clean. Your piece will regain its natural warmth and lustre.
Storage Store your pieces in a cool, dry place away from moisture. When stacking plates or bowls, place a soft cloth or tissue between each piece to prevent scratching the surface.
Food Safety All Baarique products carry the SGS food safety certification, ensuring they are safe for use with food and beverages. Our pieces require gentle handwashing only and are not suitable for dishwashers or microwaves.
A Note on Imperfections Small variations in colour, texture, and finish are inherent to the handcrafted nature of our work. These are not flaws, they are the soulful imprints of the artisans who made your piece, and what makes each creation entirely one of a kind.
