Malika Budhiraj is a multidisciplinary artist and designer whose practice is shaped by memory, ritual and the visual languages of India.
Her practice explores the relationship between art, craft and objects, bringing together traditional techniques, material knowledge and contemporary forms.
Through Baarique, she works across metal, painting, textiles and craft, creating objects and works that sit between art and design.

A predominantly women-led studio, Baarique operates through mentorship and collaborative authorship. Young women are trained across painting and design, contributing directly to the conceptual and visual development of each collection. Guided by principles of slow design and cultural continuity, Baarique creates functional and spatial objects that engage with craft as both practice and an evolving language.
